I think taking care of yourself is a part of it. I also believe that if you let your inner beauty shine through, it will show on the outside. The more confident I become, the more I'm perceived as "beautiful"...even though I haven't changed anything about my outward appearance! I think that holds true for all of us!

Is that so true. i just spoke to a friend who said she went through a tough break up and went inward to work and no play. Few people ever stopped her on the street, the office or at the coffee shop for directions, or even a hello. It took her another friend to bring this to her attention that all she needed to do is pull her shoulders back, concentrate on living again and smile more... little by little she began to notice that not only did people turn to her for her reaction on ideas, comments or approval, her attitude lifted and she was being asked out again.
No she didnt loose weight, wear more makeup or wear different clothes, change came about when her attitude shifted.

I don't know... There is such a range of beauty out there. Some people are limited by what they see while others are able to see the full picture.
There's the beauty we see in the magazines but there's a greater beauty we see when we actually spend time with a person.
I've met some people who are typically considered beautiful but who are completely ugly. And I've met people who are not considered traditionally beautiful that I find completely beautiful.
I think a person's actions, how they treat people, their interests, etc help determine their True Beauty. Things you never see from looking at a magazine or television.

Well, I am not easily impressed with looks. I like beauty very much, but my idea of beauty is rose or beautiful painting, human looks impress me only if it is some woman in ornate, gorgeous period dress, period being late 19th century or something. And sewermouthed filth trying to tell that someone is ugly - yes, there is such people - just does not work.

I think beauty that is truly timeless endures through the whole life span, and it isn't conditional on your age, weight, size, shape, coloring, or "rules" of culture. I've known beautiful people of so many ages, races, body shapes, and sizes, and I think it's limiting and narrow minded to put it into one small box. Why should we women let that box, whether we fit into it or not, define us or limit us? I don't think we are all meant to look alike, and I think that trying to look like something I am not would be rejecting the shared beauty I have with my mom, my sister, my aunts, my cousins, my grandmother, all of whom I look like and who look like me. If my sister, for example, thought she had a "bad" smile, she would be rejecting my beauty also, because we look alike when we smile. :) I think we would be rejecting not only ourselves but those who look like us. :)
